Move families away from living in poor, unsafe, unhygienic conditions.
You step outside and feel a chill in the air on your bare toes as they step into the hardened mud and rocks of the land (you gave your shoes to your neighbour because she needed them more than you did).
Time to start a fire before the kids wake up! You realize you have nothing to burn so you use the mattress that is now partially dry from the last rainfall…but covered in mould. This will have to do.
You wonder what will happen when your kids wake up and you tell them there’s nothing to eat today. Can you distract them with a game of soccer with the rolled up ball of paper you found? Or maybe they’ll be so tired they’ll just sleep most of the day…
This is the reality of our Syrian brothers and sisters in Idlib. We are working hard to restore their dignity by building houses that will withstand the weather, provide security, and provide hygienic conditions.
