The Village of Hope is a unique community initiative spearheaded by the Droplets of Mercy (DOM).
As the crises across the world deepen, thousands of evacuees have landed in Egypt, Canada, Jordan and elsewhere in desperate search for stability and safety.
New challenges arise at every step: Accommodation. Food. Education. Medical care. In Canada, the devastating housing crisis. With skyrocketing rents, many face the risk of homelessness or being funnelled into shelters. In response, Droplets of Mercy has taken the responsibility not just house evacuees, but to create a community of belonging, healing, and hope.
Responding to an urgent housing crisis for displaced Gaza families, Droplets of Mercy will acquire properties & land in cities where Gaza Evacuees in dire need. Alongside a homestead, the Village will provide prefabricated, insulated homes complete with running water, electricity, and sewage facilities designed to house a minimum of approximately 100 people rent-free.
The community will also feature a 4,500–5,000 sq ft community centre for social events, and a community kitchen staffed by local chefs, creating a vibrant neighborhood atmosphere focused on care and connection.
Village of Hope is a Droplets of Mercy initiative, uniting local efforts to create lasting change. Droplets of Mercy manages the fundraising and donation platform, ensuring transparency and accountability. It also oversees the assessment of families’ needs and supports sustainable income-generation projects on the property such as cattle ranching, greenhouses, and small businesses.
Droplets of Mercy handles land acquisition and property management to ensure safety and privacy, including gated security and live patrols. The project operates with a waqf system, ensuring the land remains dedicated to this humanitarian purpose indefinitely.
